Company created in 1908 whose corporate purpose was "the production, manufacturing, purchase, transport and sale in French and foreign countries of preserved tropical fruits and in particular pineapple". A factory was installed in Guadeloupe at Pointe-à-Pitre to process the fruits purchased from the natives.

Another was planned in Martinique to increase the production capacity of cans, while pineapple production was decreasing in Guadeloupe and there were no canning factories in Martinique.

The share capital was initially set at 60,000 francs then subsequently increased to 1 million francs in 1922.

The Société Française d'Importation de Fruits Tropicaux sued in 1909 for unfair competition.
