Three public car companies shared the transport market in Corsica at the beginning of the 20th century, including Atlas de Corse, the Société des Automobiles du Cap and the Société Corse Automobile.

The Société Corse Automobile served Sartène (85 kilometers away), Vico (52 kilometers away), Sainte-Marie Sichè from Ajaccio. It received grants from the General Council and the Post Office. The three companies were then grouped together in 1920 within the Compagnie Générale des Transports Automobiles de la Corse.
