France Automobile
Provisional certificate, 1 share 500 F, France Automobile, Neuilly 1925. Automobile federation. Antique automobile share.
France Automobile, Association des Propriétaires d'Automobiles et Fédération des Groupements Automobiles de France, was a cooperative purchasing and consumption company with variable capital and membership, established at 11 boulevard de Verdun in Neuilly. Articles of association filed with Maître Wargny, notary in Neuilly, on 9 March 1918. It aimed to pool purchases of parts and fuel for motorists at a time when the automobile was beginning to become widespread.
This Provisional Certificate for One Fully Paid-Up Share of 500 Francs, in the name of Monsieur Blanc (a merchant of Quai du Mareuil d'Amboise), dated 4 October 1925 in Neuilly, bears number 308. Elegant sea-green border, two original directors' signatures. Original stamps. A landscape-format document, clean, very legible. An interesting piece for enthusiasts of automobile scripophily and the history of French motorists' cooperatives of the 1920s.
