Extract from the company statutes on the back of the certificate.

The social fund created in 1839 is divided into only 600 shares of 500F each. Interest is 5% per year from 1841.

Victor Hugo signed up to this company for 10 years, initially with the publisher Delloye who went bankrupt after 3 years, then with Duriez (whose signature appears on the share).

He ceded the ownership of his works published until then, and undertook to produce three new ones.

Printed on very fine paper by Béthune and Plon.

VF/EF condition: very good condition except the bottom border which has small pieces missing.
