The Company of Tin of Kinta (Société des Etains de Kinta), founded in 1886 by Xavier Bender, and directed by Emile Descombes, a French engineer, is a descendant of the Société Française des Mines de Pérak, itself founded in 1883.

Head office: rue Taitbout, 63, in Paris The main purpose of the company is the exploitation of the tin mines located in the Malacca peninsula, and in particular those forming the concessions of Lahat and Klian-Lalang.

We find in its statutes some of the members of the board of directors of the Société Anonyme des Etains de Malaysia: Élysée Descombes, Alfred Chauvelot, Nestor Dreyfus, Émile Robert, Jules Prévet, Charles Fouquet, Paul Manthès, Pierre Many, Xavier Dernier, Emile Bellicam.
