Serbia
Serbia, in Serbian Srbija, became a Principality in 1815. Belgrade was the capital from 1867. The principality became Kingdom of Serbia in 1882. After World War I, the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was proclaimed in 1918 and took the name of Kingdom of Yugoslavia in 1929. During the 1990s, Yugoslavia was gradually dissolved. In 2006, Serbia became fully independent again.
