The Art Deco design
The Art Deco style is present in the scripophilye through some famous certificates including Citroën shares.
The Art Deco style takes its name from the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts which was held in Paris in 1925.
Art Deco dates from the years 1910-1920, succeeding the rounded shapes of Art Nouveau. It is characterized by a simpler style with geometric and symmetrical shapes, with sharp angles and cut sides.
The share of the company André Citroën is a perfect example. The certificate bears the facsimile signature of André Citroën, and presents in frieze four models of the brand as well as the famous chevrons and two radiators.
