The company was founded in 1910 by Henriette Gabilla, a Syrian perfumer and cosmetician. It was Gabilla was a major exporter of luxury worldwide.
The company purchased a perfume factory in 1910 located 203 rue de Paris, Ivry-Sur-Seine.
Gabilla created at least 50 fragrances in the early 1890s until the 1950s such as Mon Cheri, Moda, Sais Tu, Musardises, Chypre, Lilas, Jasmin, Fleur du Jour, Chin-Li and Violette, "Amour Américain" (American Love), Minne, Xantho...
Gabilla also produced cosmetics ("La Creme de Gabilla", ...) and toiletries such as soap, talcum powder, brilliantines, powders ("La Poudre de Riz"), lipstick, mascara and eye shadow.
Gabilla won the Prix d’Honneur at the Art Deco exhibition in Paris in 1925.
