Certificate 10 ordinary shares £1, Corocoro United Copper Mines Ltd, N°2226, Jean Paul Jules Dorsane 7 rue Croizillac Bordeaux, N°698192-698201, 14 June 1932. Capital £700,000. Bolivia copper mines.
Corocoro United Copper Mines Limited is a British mining company operating the copper mines of Corocoro (Corococho), located in the Bolivian Altiplano approximately 100 km south-west of La Paz. These native copper mines are among the richest in South America and have been exploited since the Spanish colonial era. The company is registered under the Companies Consolidation Act 1908 with an initial capital of £700,000 (700,000 ordinary shares of £1 each). Due to financial difficulties, a special resolution of 29 October 1930, confirmed by the High Court of Justice in London on 23 February 1931, reduced and reorganised the capital, which became £730,000 divided into 100,000 preference shares of £1, 715,028 ordinary shares of 2/- each, and 100,000 shares of £1 (4,754,972 shares of 2/9 each, unclassified). The total authorised capital increased to £1,500,000 divided into £1 shares. Certificate N°2226, in the name of Jean Paul Jules Dorsane of 7, rue Croizillac, Bordeaux, is dated 14 June 1932. The presence of a Bordeaux shareholder attests to French investors' interest in South American mines. Signed by two Directors (including Paul Felru) and the Secretary.
