The company was created in Aubervilliers (rue du Port) in 1910 by four brothers Clément-Baptiste, Pierre-Auguste, Charles-Edme and Paul-Alfred Quervel. The document is signed by Clément Quervel.
The company had branches in Paris, Lyon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Woippy, as well as in North Africa in Algiers and Tunis.
Woippy's industrial establishment was a depot for industrial oils and greases, called La Kervoline, which gave its name to their flagship product.
