The concession was granted by Governor Etienne Ardouin to the company in 1877. The company was controlled by the Compagnie des Chemins de fer à voie étroite du Midi, which was part of the Baron Empain group.
Biarritz station opened in 1890.
Small issue of 3,200 shares.
