Société ''Secrétan-Palace'' (Cinéma)
Share of 500F - Paris 1930
Located at 55 rue de Meaux in Paris, the Secrétan Palace was intended, above all, to be a popular cinema.
This is why, in order to make the construction profitable, the architect Paul Dubreuil, from the French union of cinema directors, decided to build a residential building above the hall. The facade has since been modified somewhat but, originally, the difference in function between the apartments and the cinema was clearly underlined by the coating of the facades: cement and pink stone for the apartments; bright pink granite for the cinema above the marquise; black and gold mosaic or red mosaic below. On the façade, you can very clearly distinguish the four bull's-eyes corresponding to the projectionist's booth.
The cinema had 2500 seats and was equipped with Gaumont-Radio-Cinema equipment.
This large room was part of the network of Léon Brézillon and Rocher, whose signatures can be found on the share.
