Use of processes Rodolphe Berthon (optician and astronomer from Lyon) whose invention enabled the first color films in 1908.

While the Keller-Dorian Color Film Society in deficit changed its name to become the French Society of Cinematography and Photography, Rodolphe Berthon decided to dissociate himself from it and founded the French Cinechromatic Society in January 1929. In the team, there is an engineer also dissident, and the astronomer Charles Nordmann. Funding comes from a Nantes canning industrialist, E. Caudera.
