The company, subsidiary of General Electric, was the first name of the Thomson-CSF company, now Thales.

Created in Paris in 1893 in association with Compgnie des Compteurs, the company aims to build and operate electricity production and transport units and electric tram networks. In the construction of tram lines and rolling stock, it applies techniques from American patents to which it owns the operating rights.

The company is managed by Émile Mercet, representative of the Périer bank, the main shareholder.

It is expanding its activities to the promising tramway sector and more broadly to electric traction.

In 1966 the company disappears following a merger with Hotchkiss-Brandt to form the Thomson-Houston-Hotchkiss-Brandt company, which will later be renamed Thomson-Brandt.Subsidiary of General Electric, first name of Thomson-CSF, then Thales.
