Born in 1826 in Lure in Haute-Saône, Charles Brouhot created the "Société de Construction Mécanique de Vierzon Brouhot et Cie" in 1860.

In 1891, the company built an internal combustion engine and then in 1893, an automobile.

It was at this time that Brouhot split into two companies: Etablissements Georges Brouhot (son of Charles), agricultural and industrial equipment, and SA of Usines d'Automobiles G. Brouhot et Cie.

The latter suffered a cancellation of an order for 200 taxis by the City of London, which led to its liquidation in 1909.

In 1941, the company specialized in presses and took the name of "Société de Construction Mécanique de Vierzon".
