Napoleon III entrusted the operation of the spa establishment which he frequented in concession to the company Lebobe Callou et Cie. The company took the name of Compagnie fermière de l'Établissement Thermal de Vichy in 1862.

The company, managed by the Callou family, undertook to improve and maintain state property and paid the latter a royalty.

The company was bought by the Brasseries et Glacières de l'Indochine, then passed under the control of the Perrier group and then bought by the Castel group in 1992.

In 2009, the company will take the name of Compagnie de Vichy.
